Epic TheOdyssey finishes 4th full week at Global BoxOffice beating Minions’ 1.16B run as Universal’s #6 highest grossing film ever & could beat DeadpoolAndWolverine this weekend! ChristopherNolan reached 695.3M cume overseas on 4th WED over 81 intl. markets, ahead of China joining TOMORROW & Japan only in SEP! Allied to its 477.1M cume in the US, the Epic with a 250M production price tag not including marketing hits a 1.17B Global cume, beating CaptainMarvel’s 1.13B, SpiderManFarFromHome’s 1.13B, ReturnOfTheKing’s 1.15B, Aquaman’s 1.15B, CivilWar’s 1.16B & Minions’s 1.16B as #32 highest grossing film of ALL TIME Globally! On FRI, it’ll cross the 1.2B mark and beat TheFateOfTheFurious’s 1.24B run to enter Universal’s ALL TIME TOP5 global hits. It has a shot at also beating JurassicWorldFallenKingdom’s 1.31B as Universal’s #4 highest grossing film EVER & also DeadpoolAndWolverine’s 1.34B as the highest grossing R-rated film of ALL TIME by the end of SUN, depending on its debut in China. With a spectacular performance so far in Korea & pre-sales in China indicating the biggest debut ever for a Nolan film, the 1.5B+ mark seems locked 🔒 as the new floor, even without Japan. Yeah, TheOdyssey is poised to beat Barbie, TopGunMaverick and even AvatarFireAndAsh, how crazy is that? As promised, I’ll update the Global projection on SUN factoring the performances in the new Asian markets.
