UEFA VAR change proposal

UEFA is planning a drastic shift in how VAR operates within football. The goal is to return control to referees, echoing the style of officiating from the past. Roberto Rosetti, the UEFA refereeing chief, argues that current video review processes have gone too far by analyzing what he calls 'microscopic situations'. He wants to change this approach significantly. This move aims to give officials more authority on the pitch again, moving away from the hyper-detailed scrutiny that has defined recent years. It is a reported policy change driven by Rosetti's view that the technology's application needs correction.
