Luis Enrique first salary parents

Luis Enrique recalls the moment his first professional football paycheck arrived. The sum was 165,000 pesetas, a figure that left him overwhelmed with emotion because it represented such a massive jump from his previous earnings of just 20,000 at Sporting Atlético. He describes feeling suddenly rich, yet he did not spend the money on himself. There were no new clothes or motorcycles bought with that initial windfall. Instead, his immediate action was to hand the entire amount to his mother and father. His parents had been facing difficulties for some time, specifically struggling to cover the interest payments on their apartment. Being able to assist them in that financial burden became one of the greatest satisfactions of his life. He views his parents as the ultimate example of what it means to fight, work, and sacrifice for a family unit. For him, handing over that first check was a way to give back to them, even if only in a small measure, for everything they had done for him since he was a child.
