    💭Basketball🏛️NBA⭐Roy Hibbert

NBA big man revival Wemby OKC Thunder

The NBA is going back to what it knows best. For most of basketball's lifetime, size meant you had more of an advantage. Things changed once the Steph Curry led Warriors dominated the NBA, causing teams to prioritize shooting and spacing over size. It made former stars like Jahlil Okafor and Roy Hibbert lose a lot of value in the league. But thanks to Wemby, giants are officially back in the NBA. When was the last time you heard one team have three players at least seven foot tall? The OKC Thunder have three next season and will pay them a combined $70 million (Aday Mara, Chet Holmgren, and Isaiah Hartenstein). For the 2026-2027 season, there will be at least 6 players who are at least 7'2" (most since the 03-04 season). 💪 Jamarion Sharp (7'5") - tallest active player 💪 Victor Wembanyama (7'4") 💪 Zach Edey (7'4") 💪 Aday Mara (7'3") 💪 Rocco Zikarsky (7'3") 💪 Donovan Clingan (7'2") There's been such an increased demand for size now that for the first time in Wemby's NBA career, he won't be the tallest player for the season. The era of small ball isn't over, but the future of the NBA is looking taller than ever.
