    Stacking up every Nobel Prize by country and the United States is in a whole different orbit at 428. The United Kingdom grabs second with 145, then Germany at 116, France at 79, and Sweden at 34. Japan lands at 33, Russia/USSR at 30, Canada 29, Switzerland 27, and Austria rounds out the top ten with 25. After that it’s the Netherlands at 22, Italy 21, Poland 19, Hungary 16, Australia 15, and a three-way tie at 14 for Israel, Denmark, and Norway. India sits at 13 and Belgium closes the list with 11. Wikipedia has the full tally and notes the prizes span six fields, Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature, Peace, and Economic Sciences.
