Javier Mascherano says when he and Tevez rocked up at West Ham, Alan Pardew had no clue what positions they played. They'd just been at a World Cup with Argentina and had deals signed, so it was a bizarre moment. He knew right then he wasn't getting game time. Sitting on a five-year contract, the idea of collecting wages without playing didn't sit right with him. Eventually Liverpool stepped in and took him out of there.
