David Beckham on signing Messi

David Beckham says it took four years of work to bring Leo Messi to Inter Miami. He managed to get into the same hotel as Messi’s father and spoke to him, and the father said Miami’s offer would be considered. Apple, Adidas, and MLS were all supporting Beckham in the signing. Beckham was nervous because Messi had just left PSG and his biggest fear was a return to Barcelona, with so many other good offers on the table. Messi’s father then said the decision would come in two days. Beckham was in Japan when the wait ended. At 5 in the morning, with his wife and kids asleep, his phone filled with notifications saying Messi was coming to Inter Miami. Beckham called it beautiful, all that time working finally coming true. He says Messi is an intelligent, incredible player who changed the team completely without a doubt.
