Trump administration changes Endangered Species Act harm definition

The Trump administration has redefined the term "harm" under the Endangered Species Act. Under the new rule, destroying an endangered species' habitat is no longer automatically considered illegal. Instead, there must be direct injury or killing of the animal. The habitat itself loses protection, while the animal remains technically protected.
