Happy City Index 2026

The Happy City Index 2026 has been released, ranking cities worldwide by well-being. Topping the list of happiest cities are Copenhagen, Helsinki, Geneva, Uppsala, Tokyo, Trondheim, Bern, Malmö, Munich, and Aarhus. On the other end, the least happy cities include Guadalajara, Nashville, Dallas, and Bucharest, with several U.S. cities appearing in the bottom tier. The report notes that six of the ten happiest cities are in the Nordic region, while five of the ten least happy are in the United States.
