Michael Jackson MICHAEL biopic Russia box office

Michael Jackson's biopic 'MICHAEL' continues to show impressive legs at the Russian box office. On its third Saturday, the film earned $910,000 from 1,249 theaters (a net gain of 50 locations), a drop of only 18.1% from the previous Saturday despite facing new local competition. It ranked second behind the local debut 'Kholop 3', which grossed $1 million on Saturday and $2.5 million over its first three days. The biopic's cumulative total now stands at $13.5 million with 1.8 million admissions. Sunday pre-sales have already reached $140,000. If the film continues to see weekly drops under 20% from this third weekend onward, it could potentially cross the $25 million mark. The current projection for the third four-day weekend is between $3.1 million and $3.3 million.
