Update: Paramount's new R-rated comedy horror "Scary Movie 6" posted actual Thursday numbers that are higher than expected, putting it on track to surpass the entire $71.3 million domestic run of "Scary Movie 2" tonight at the U.S. box office, in just 8 days. Anna Faris and Regina Hall finished their first full week with a strong $2.8 million on Thursday, marking the franchise's second biggest Thursday ever. That's a -15.2% drop from last Thursday, crushing the previous installment "Scary Movie 5" which earned $524,000 on its comparable Thursday (+1.5%), and coming in only under the first "Scary Movie" which earned $4.6 million (-5%). The comedy, which cost $30 million to produce, has already grossed $70.1 million domestically in just 7 days. Tonight, it will surpass "Scary Movie 2"'s entire $71.3 million run, becoming the fourth highest-grossing installment of the franchise in just 8 days.
