S-400 Triumph air defense

The most powerful air defense system has evolved over the years. In 2000 it was the Russian S-300PMU2. The same system remained dominant through 2001, 2002, and 2003. By 2004 the list expanded to include both the Russian S-300PMU2 and the American Patriot PAC-3. The American Patriot PAC-3 took the lead in 2005 and 2006. Then in 2007 the Russian S-400 Triumph assumed the top spot, a position it held in 2008 as well.
