Around 65,000 worshippers gathered at Al-Aqsa for Friday prayers today. They did so even though Israel has prevented Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza from freely reaching the site over the past three years. Attendees came in the early hours and filled every available space in the courtyard, including areas blocked by barriers. Al-Aqsa ranks as one of Islam's three holiest sites. Source: Al Jazeera
