Hasan Piker and Medea Benjamin subpoenaed over Cuba trip

The Treasury Department has subpoenaed Twitch streamer Hasan Piker and CodePink co-founder Medea Benjamin over their March trip to communist Cuba. The Office of Foreign Assets Control is investigating whether they violated U.S. sanctions by financing and delivering goods to the regime as part of the "Nuestra América Convoy." Up to 40 Americans are caught in the dragnet, including Isra Hirsi, the daughter of Rep. Ilhan Omar. More subpoenas are expected. The activist class spent years calling sanctions enforcement a fantasy. The Trump administration has turned it into a federal investigation, which fits into the wider Cuba pressure campaign alongside the Castro indictment and the carrier group now stationed in the region.
