@felix_pThat 1983 night in a New York club is where it turned. Clive Davis caught Whitney Houston on stage and knew he was hearing something rare. But the groundwork came first: a kid singing in church, sharing a mic with her mother Cissy Houston, then putting in hours as a backing vocalist. Her debut album landed two years after that club set, and from there came the Grammy Awards, the sold-out concerts, I Will Always Love You. The voice was the base for all of it.

A young Black woman with a radiant, toothy smile is the focus, shown in a classic studio headshot. She’s tilting her head playfully toward the camera, wearing a plaid collared shirt and small pearl earrings, her short curly hair perfectly styled. The mood is warm, joyful, and timeless, captured in crisp black-and-white with soft studio lighting. Her bright eyes and genuine grin are the most striking part. No text or watermarks are visible.
