France data tax costs for movies and GTA V

@not_a_newt🇫🇷 FRANCE VOTES 5.5 CENT TAX ON EVERY GIGABYTE BIG TECH SENDS - Content providers like Google, Meta, Amazon, Netflix and Akamai (content delivery network) pay €0.055 per GB they send to French users - Internet providers count the data per company and report it to the tax office every quarter, without looking at content or who receives it - Cap: 15% of the company's French revenue or 2% of its global revenue (LMAO) - Socialists expect €10 billion a year. France receives about 200 billion GB a year (ARCEP, the telecom regulator) -> Invest in VPN providers if it gets adopted fully … cause avoiding French servers will make usage free. It’s not final yet, it still needs confirmation after being adopted by the assembly and can be thrown out.
