@jolyonUkraine's total debt dipped in September for the first time since May, settling around $212.6 billion, yet Fitch warns this decline won't hold. The ratings agency labels Ukraine a very high credit risk and projects the debt burden climbing from 101% of GDP last year to 134% by 2028. The IMF offers a slightly different outlook, estimating figures closer to 110% of GDP, with the divergence largely attributed to the ongoing war. Fitch assumes hostilities persist into 2027 and forecasts a slight economic shrinkage for the current year. While the EU remains the largest lender with a €90 billion loan, financial pledges from non-EU sources are expected to plummet to €4 billion in 2027 from €19 billion this year. As long as partners continue their funding, Ukraine can maintain bill payments despite these shifting projections. Source: Intellinews / Writer: Daniyal
