@savageupdatesBro actually pulled the Official Ballon d'Or B.O.A.T. Vote numbers and the gap between the top spot and everyone else is wild. Cristiano Ronaldo sits at 75% of the votes for his 2008 Ballon d'Or performance while Lionel Messi only grabbed 9% for his 2012 Ballon d'Or run in this same poll. You see Cristiano Ronaldo back up with another 6% for his 2017 Ballon d'Or performance before the rest of the field drops off significantly because multiple other players including Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ronaldo Nazário, Marco van Basten, Michel Platini, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Kevin Keegan, Franz Beckenbauer, Johan Cruyff, and Alfredo Di Stéfano each received less than 1% of the votes for their respective years listed even though they are all top tier names in the game. The voting data comes straight from the Official Ballon d'Or B.O.A.T. Vote over at http://ballondor.com so you can check the numbers yourself if you want to see exactly how the population split between the top two and everyone else who barely cracked the double digits.
