    💭News💭Politics🏛️Dr. Ron Paul
Ron Paul on his old warnings

@not_a_charmWhat got me about sitting down with Dr. Ron Paul was how unremarkable his explanation sounded. No fortune telling involved. The man read history, followed economics, and paid attention to what tends to happen once a government collects more and more power into its own hands. That's the whole trick. Go back to 2002 and the former U.S. Congressman was already laying out the pieces: debt with no brakes on it, personal freedoms wearing thin, gold on the way up, and a country that couldn't stop getting pulled into foreign wars. By 2011 he'd narrowed it to Iran specifically, saying an American president might overreact one day and bomb the place. A lot of what he described back then is just the air we breathe at this point. The bit I keep turning over is his view of Congress as an institution. People arrive with good intentions, he thinks, and then the system quietly retrains them to answer to party leadership, to donors, to special interests, until their principles are the last thing on the list. He still holds that this can be reversed. You don't have to win everyone over, just a small group locked onto one idea, and that's enough to shift an entire country. At 91 the guy is out here pushing peace, liberty and honest money, which frankly is a wild thing to keep doing after watching your own warnings play out for decades

    About this photo

The image shows a split screen of two men in a podcast or interview setting. The man on the left is younger, wearing a black shirt and earbuds, and appears to be speaking or gesturing. The man on the right is older, wearing a suit jacket over a teal shirt, and is looking down. The mood is professional and conversational. A logo at the top reads "MARIOXNAWFAL". On-screen text identifies the older man as "Dr. Ron Paul" and "U.S. Congressman".
