"It's a pretty serious event for any region to manage," Dr. Steve Fisher told CTV News Edmonton Sunday. Fisher said many of the patients have various degrees of burns, with the most seriously affected being treated at the University of Alberta Hospital where the burn ICU is. The doctor did not have exact numbers for how many patients were being treated at either hospital, but said he was told there were nearly 40 EMS patients total.
