@FootynewsAfter the Copa América final wrapped up between Colombia and Argentina, James Rodriguez tracked down Lionel Messi to offer congratulations and check if he was okay. Leo responded that he was fine, thanked him, and wished him good luck before James noticed the significant swelling on his ankle and urged him to get medical attention. Messi insisted he was fine as long as they won and Argentina was okay, a sentiment James reflected on deeply. He noted that this player has already won everything in football and speculated that if he were in Messi's position, he would play just for fun. Instead, Messi sacrificed himself for his country, finished injured, and cried as if he had not won anything, as if he were not the best player in the world. James characterized Messi as a symbol of patriotism and love for his country, claiming no other player in Argentine history has achieved what he did. He concluded that Messi deserves a statue in every city of Argentina. This interaction captures a recognition of a genius by another genius.
