@meghan.fatoujust laid out the full scope of Ayra Starr's push for the 2027 GRAMMYs and the sheer volume of categories is the real story here. Her project 'Starrgirl' lands nominations across Album of the Year, Best Global Music Album, Best Engineered Album, and Album Cover. The single 'Heaven Baby' with ZAYN is competing for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Moving into global sounds, 'Who's Dat Girl' featuring Rema has a slot in Best Global Music Performance. The African music category sees heavy representation with 'Ms. Paper' alongside Theodora, 'Aye Kan (Are You Coming Back?)' paired with Angélique Kidjo, 'Le Show' with Davido and French Montana, and 'Show Me' with Latto all vying for Best African Music Performance. Visual work gets its due too since the video for 'Tornado' is up for Best Music Video. Even the electronic side is covered as the version 'Wo Man, Edit' with Peggy Gou is nominated for Best Dance Pop Recording.
