@kimonAndrew Haigh sets A Long Winter in 1950s Colorado, and what unfolds is queer desire that never gets resolved. There's a police officer at the center, fantasies nobody names out loud, and this murky connection between Jimmy and Mikey once Mikey's mother goes missing. Critics can't agree on it. Some read it as a quiet study of grief and wanting, others find it simply too cold. No payoff. Just the winter 🍿

The image focuses on two young men embracing in a snowy, mountainous landscape. One man rests his head on the other's shoulder, both looking off into the distance with contemplative expressions. The mood is intimate and serene, with a cinematic aesthetic. The snow dusting their dark jackets and the soft, diffused light are visually notable. ON-SCREEN TEXT: A LONG WINTER
