@not_a_charmTwo fronts, two different playbooks, and the IDF is getting ready for either one. That's the picture from Minister Katz, who says there's a contingency plan on the shelf for what he calls a "short and powerful war" against the Palestinian Authority. What trips the plan: PA security forces, or armed groups tied to them, going after Israeli soldiers or settlers. If that happens, Katz says the response could pull in air and ground units, strikes on specific individuals, wiping out weapons stockpiles, and moving large numbers of people out of West Bank cities and refugee camps. Meanwhile the alert level in Gaza is up, because of intelligence suggesting Hamas might try another kidnapping of Israeli troops. So Israel is bracing for a potential major conflict in the West Bank while watching Gaza at the same time. Source: i24 News / Writer: Samuel
