@FootynewsA man claiming he invented and registered the VAR concept before FIFA adopted it filed a massive lawsuit against both FIFA and the RFEF. He was asking for a staggering 300 million euros in damages, but the Madrid Court of First Instance completely dismissed the case. The court found that his registered system differs significantly from the actual VAR system currently used by FIFA regarding both its operation and the underlying technology involved. Because of this finding, there will be no compensation paid out to him whatsoever. Instead, the plaintiff is now ordered to bear all the legal costs associated with these proceedings. Even though the judgment went against him, he still retains the right to appeal the decision within the next 20 days available to him. #FIFA
