@timofeyFlaxseed, sometimes called linseed, isn't just about oil or industrial uses; the seeds hold omega-3 fatty acids and the plants provide fibers too. When you look at who actually grew this stuff in 2024, Russia comes out on top with approximately 1,180,000 tonnes of production. Kazakhstan followed behind with 759,591 tonnes, while China managed 280,000 tonnes. Canada wasn't far off either, bringing in 257,974 tonnes to the global total. India contributed 112,693 tonnes, and Ethiopia added 82,000 tonnes to the mix. Ukraine produced 66,160 tonnes, and the United States came in with 61,470 tonnes. France rounded out the higher numbers with 39,620 tonnes, and the United Kingdom supplied 31,038 tonnes. Argentina brought 24,998 tonnes, Egypt added 8,000 tonnes, and Australia provided 7,000 tonnes. Hungary produced 4,360 tonnes, Brazil contributed 3,795 tonnes, and Poland brought 2,360 tonnes. New Zealand made 2,347 tonnes, Romania added 1,950 tonnes, and Pakistan supplied 1,715 tonnes. Czechia finished the list with 1,400 tonnes. The data comes from FAOSTAT for 2024, presented via AgricultureID and Commodity Origins. Russia's figure is noted as rounded, and some smaller-country values are estimates.
