@timofeyActually, the whole global meat picture shifts when you look at who's raising water buffalo, and it turns out South Asia is basically running the show here. India dominates the list in 2024 with a massive 4.57 million tonnes of buffalo-meat coming out of the country, which is way ahead of everyone else. Pakistan takes second place for sure with 1.27 million tonnes produced that same year, while China sits in third with 779,100 tonnes on their plate. Egypt comes in next with 200,000 tonnes, followed by Nepal pulling in 138,300 tonnes of output. Vietnam isn't far behind with 68,900 tonnes, and The Philippines rounds out the top tier with 64,800 tonnes generated in 2024. Venezuela chipped in 39,500 tonnes, Myanmar added 29,000 tonnes to the mix, and Laos contributed 22,100 tonnes during that period. Indonesia brought 21,600 tonnes to the table, Thailand managed 18,100 tonnes, and Türkiye reached 13,800 tonnes total. Colombia finished strong with 12,100 tonnes, Sri Lanka hit 8,900 tonnes, Bangladesh produced 7,100 tonnes, and Cambodia came in at 7,000 tonnes. Iraq rounded out the lower numbers with 5,900 tonnes, and Iran closed the list with 3,600 tonnes of buffalo-meat. These stats from FAOSTAT 2024 really highlight how buffalo farming supports rural economies and food security across these regions. Presented by Terra Cultiva, this data shows why buffalo-based livestock systems remain so critical for agricultural income worldwide. #FoodAndDrink
