That matters because roughly half of Europe's diesel comes from the States, and global supply is already stretched thin by disruptions near the Strait of Hormuz. Trump said Sunday he's weighing a ban "very seriously" to bring down fuel prices domestically, so the threat hasn't been taken off the table.
