U.S. deportation deals with 35 countries (photo 1 of 2)
U.S. deportation deals with 35 countries (photo 2 of 2)

@not_a_charmThe Trump administration's deportation machine now runs through 35 countries that signed on to take people in, a lot of whom have no actual ties to wherever they land. Buses have moved around 20,000 into Mexico. Another 5,000-plus got flown out to spots in Central Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America and Africa. Official line is that this targets criminals. The people actually getting moved tell a different story, like an Iranian woman who had to run after protesting her own government, or a gay man from Ghana who left because his family was persecuting him. Trump ran on the biggest deportation effort in U.S. history. Turns out the method is just dropping people somewhere else entirely Source: The Guardian / Writers: Daniyal, Oliver

    About this photo

The image focuses on a group of men in what appears to be a common area. Several men are seated at tables with checkerboard patterns, facing away from the camera. One man stands in the background, looking towards a television mounted on the wall. The mood is somber and institutional, with a stark, utilitarian aesthetic. A "no smoking" sign is visible on the wall, and one man's shirt has "XL ICE" printed on the back.
