    Largest Zinc-Producing Countries 2023

@timofeyLargest Zinc-Producing Countries in the World — 2023 Zinc is one of the world’s major industrial metals, widely used for galvanizing steel, producing alloys such as brass, die-casting, batteries and other industrial applications. Because zinc production is often associated with lead and other polymetallic ores, mining activity is distributed across several major mineral-producing regions. For this Original Content series, the figures below come from World Mining Data 2025 and represent contained zinc (Zn) in mine production, measured in metric tonnes—not the total weight of zinc-bearing ore. 🇨🇳 China — 4,130,000 tonnes 🇵🇪 Peru — 1,469,127 tonnes 🇦🇺 Australia — 1,098,290 tonnes 🇮🇳 India — 853,400 tonnes 🇺🇸 United States — 767,000 tonnes 🇲🇽 Mexico — 744,285 tonnes 🇧🇴 Bolivia — 491,768 tonnes 🇰🇿 Kazakhstan — 352,900 tonnes 🇷🇺 Russia — 320,000 tonnes 🇸🇪 Sweden — 217,596 tonnes 🇮🇷 Iran — 215,900 tonnes 🇿🇦 South Africa — 197,630 tonnes 🇧🇷 Brazil — 194,030 tonnes 🇹🇷 Türkiye — 187,700 tonnes 🇵🇹 Portugal — 185,670 tonnes 🇪🇷 Eritrea — 116,829 tonnes 🇨🇦 Canada — 109,507 tonnes 🇪🇸 Spain — 89,219 tonnes 🇨🇺 Cuba — 66,100 tonnes 🇲🇳 Mongolia — 60,300 tonnes The 20 countries above accounted for approximately 94.77% of the zinc production recorded globally in the World Mining Data 2025 dataset for 2023. China alone contributed about 32.98% of the reported total. Source: World Mining Data 2025 — mineral production data for 2023. About this photo

The image focuses on a list of the largest zinc-producing countries in the world for 2023. A man in a hard hat and safety vest holds a piece of raw zinc ore in the foreground, with a mining operation including a large yellow dump truck and excavator in the background. The mood is informative and industrial. A notable detail is the man's direct gaze at the camera.
