@sandeepxSteven Borden opened up on Close Up with Renee Paquette about a career shift that only began as his father approached retirement, despite being pushed away from wrestling for his entire life. He explained that his dad wanted something different for him, so he played football and eventually felt so removed from the industry that he barely understood what wrestling really was. The change started when he realized how important this career was to his father and decided to get more involved as his retirement neared. Attending the Phoenix show and getting involved leading into Revolution gave him a chance to see what this business actually is, including sides of it he hadn't understood as a kid. Watching his dad realize that someone has been in the business for decades made him understand that those same decades are going to fly by for him. Once he recognized there was something pulling him into the sport, he concluded he needs to stop running from that feeling since he probably did run from it for a long time.
