@not_a_charmReuters, writer Mhedi: Iranian authorities have closed a French language center in Tehran, and the list of accusations is long. Officials say the place was tied to networks and to helping skilled Iranians get out of the country, that it kept running without the license it needed even after being warned more than once, and that its activities worked against national security and Iranian culture, which they've labeled "illegal activities." The logic being that a foreign-linked establishment doesn't get to just keep operating when there's reason to see it as a security risk

    About this photo

A group of men in uniform stand outside a brick building flying the French and European Union flags. The men appear to be security personnel, with some in military-style uniforms and others in police uniforms. The building has a large, ornate white gate and a curved brick facade. The mood is serious and formal, suggesting an official or diplomatic setting. A tree with autumn foliage stands to the left of the building.
