@jolyonQatar is surviving a shooting war while keeping gas flowing on its own terms. Two LNG trains were damaged by Iranian missiles, taking 17% of capacity offline for years. The first cargoes after the Hormuz lockdown used an alternate route along Iran's coast. Pre-war volume was 3 ships a day; current volume is a careful climb as Europe's tanks are half empty heading into winter and Asia continues buying. Doha is deepening ties with China and India, expanding its U.S. portfolio, and staying close to Saudi, Turkey, Pakistan, and Egypt without breaking with Tehran.

    About this photo

The focus is a large industrial pipeline in a desert landscape. The pipeline has several valves with red wheels and is labeled with "QATAR" and the Qatari flag, as well as "EU" and the EU flag. The mood is stark and industrial, with a clear blue sky and sparse desert vegetation. The prominent labeling of Qatar and the EU on the pipeline suggests a focus on energy infrastructure and international relations.
