    Saudi supertankers reroute around Africa

@not_a_charmSix Saudi-flagged supertankers are skipping the Red Sea entirely, rerouting around Africa after changing course in the Gulf of Aden. That detour stretches the journey by thousands of miles and roughly 2-4 weeks. The Houthis out of Yemen have been going after Saudi and Israeli ships, so the threat is serious. Tracking sites caught the tankers moving in formation toward southern Africa instead of chancing the Bab-al-Mandeb. When does this get back to normal? #MiddleEast

    About this photo

The focus is a digital map displaying shipping routes across the Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean. Multiple colored lines with waypoints indicate vessel paths, originating from near the Horn of Africa and extending towards India and the Maldives. The overall mood is informational and technical, resembling a data visualization or tracking interface. A prominent watermark reads "WINDWARD°". The top left corner shows a series of icons with satellite symbols and what appear to be status indicators.
