@rogers_jamieFocus Features' R-rated horror film 'Obsession' is holding strong at the box office, resisting the debut of another major tentpole. YouTuber Curry Barker's project grossed $1.9 million on its sixth Thursday nationwide, marking the biggest sixth Thursday of all time for a horror film. That represents just a 36.3% drop from last Thursday, and it lost only 15 theaters last Friday. The film continues to show remarkable legs.

A close-up of a young woman with dark hair lying on her side, head resting on her arm, eyes wide and looking upward. The mood is dark and suspenseful with dim, moody lighting and a horror-movie aesthetic. Large red text reads "OBSESSION" with "A FILM BY CURRY BARKER" and "IN CINEMAS MAY 15" below. Top of frame shows the tagline "BE CAREFUL WHO YOU WISH FOR..." and three red five-star quotes labeled "SINISTER," "TERRIFYING," and "INSANE." Right side displays a yellow CinemaScore circle with "A–" and the CinemaScore logo with "#CinemaScore www.cinemascore.com."
