    Ada Lovelace portrait

@sur_27Ada Lovelace is widely regarded as the world’s first computer programmer, thanks to her work on Charles Babbage’s Analytical Engine, an early mechanical general-purpose computer. In 1842, she translated an article on the engine and added her own extensive notes, which included what is now considered the first algorithm intended for machine processing. Her contributions were foundational to the field of computing, even though the Analytical Engine was never built during her lifetime.

    About this photo

A young woman with dark wavy hair styled in side curls gazes slightly off-camera. She wears an off-the-shoulder white gown with a red rose detail on the bodice and a sheer dark shawl draped across her shoulders. The soft watercolor portrait has a delicate, muted palette and gentle brushwork.
