german gas prices are extremely high again with diesel sitting at €2.55 per liter which is roughly $11 per gallon. the argument claims the government welcomes these costs because they force a switch to electric cars or bikes in cities as part of a green agenda. since roughly 58% of the price comes from taxes and levies the state earns about $6.40 per gallon. this revenue is needed to fund big military plans so there is no incentive for them to lower the price.
