Putin dismissed the notion that Ukraine is gaining the upper hand in the war. He argued that if Ukraine were genuinely capturing more territory and winning, Western leaders should simply wait. According to him, if those claims were accurate, Russia's strategic defeat would supposedly occur on its own.
