GODZILLA MINUS ZERO got a massive upgrade thanks to IMAX and a bigger budget, according to director Takashi Yamazaki. He wanted the kaiju attack intensity to feel like it was happening from a human viewpoint. That specific angle is what unlocked an added level of terror for the film.
