Reception around 9/11 was noticeably different this year. I wasn't in America, so like I only saw Twitter and Twitter was far more serious about it than prior years. The atmosphere felt heavier, but the shift likely stems from political actors using the anniversary as a tool. It became a useful weapon to attack a bunch of Muslim candidates and some socialist ones, regardless of their actual stance on socialism.
