so germany's federal court of finance has ruled that crematoriums have to declare the valuables they collect from cremated bodies, which per the decision includes things like gold teeth and jewelry. and the gold teeth gathered after cremation count as taxable income. genuinely what kind of docket is the country's highest financial court working through. taxation reaching the personal items someone leaves behind even after death is one thing, but then going after the teeth too, one last time, is a whole other level.
I love how they are taxing the jewelry but not the sadness.
