Former President Trump has signaled he wants to push the F-35 deal through regardless of sticking points, even as Greek PM Mitsotakis notes the U.S. decides who gets defense systems. Turkey faces significant legal obstacles acquiring the jets after purchasing Russian S-400 missile systems in 2019, which triggered removal from the program. Rejoining requires divesting from that Russian equipment, a condition the US State Dept. says Ankara hasn't met yet.
