Abe Kawa, manager of Gable Steveson, responded to the shock loss at UFC331 by defending his fighter against the backlash. The post frames the defeat as an event where the fighter was caught but is supported by his team. Kawa listed several champions who faced early setbacks: Islam Makhachev was struck by a punch, Arman Tsarukyan lost the match, DJ (Demetrious Johnson) lost a match, Georges St-Pierre (GSP) lost a match, Daniel Cormier (DC) lost a match, and Jose Aldo lost a match.
