Not A Newt@not_a_newt
from july 7, 2026, every new passenger car and van in the european union has to come with an interior-facing infrared camera system. officially it's for distraction warning, but it can also tell who's behind the wheel. flash forward to august 2026 and the federal cabinet adopts a draft bill on intelligence service reform. it gives the federal office for the protection of the constitution (bfv) and the bnd the power to get location, speed, and driving profile data straight from car makers when there's concrete suspicion. car makers get a livestream from each car.
