The Supreme Court's 6-3 decision didn't settle the election order fight, it just kicked it down the road, ruling the states' challenge came too early. So federal agencies can start moving on parts of Trump's executive order about how elections are run and mail-in ballots, at least for now. Newsom's already vowing to sue the administration again, calling the plan a way to strip voting rights from people all over the country. But California isn't done: once the actual rules get written, the state can take another shot at blocking them. That matters a lot here, where about 80% of voters used mail ballots in 2024. So the legal battle continues, just on a later timeline. Via NY Post / Oliver
It seems like a lot of effort for little result.
